Group HR Manager – Multi‑Site Grocery Retail

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Group HR Manager to lead the human resources function across a fast‑growing grocery retail group operating in Donegal and the Inishowen area. You will partner with store owners and management teams to drive employee engagement, ensure legal compliance and support recruitment and development across multiple sites.

Key responsibilities

• Manage end‑to‑end recruitment and selection for all stores.
• Support workforce planning and staffing needs across the network.
• Process weekly payroll, monitor wage budgets and ensure accurate payroll administration.
• Oversee onboarding, probation reviews and maintain personnel records.
• Administer attendance, holiday and leave management systems.
• Assist managers with disciplinary, grievance and investigation processes.
• Ensure compliance with employment legislation and internal policies.
• Coordinate Health & Safety, Food Safety and mandatory training programmes.
• Drive employee engagement and internal communication initiatives.
• Conduct annual training needs analysis and support development planning.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years of HR experience in a similar role.
• CIPD qualification desirable.
• Strong knowledge of Irish employment legislation and HR best practice.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Commercial mindset with ability to align HR activities with business objectives.
• Experience in retail, grocery or FMCG environments is a plus.
