Head of Finance

About the role

Our client, a leading UK fintech specialising in foreign exchange and international payments, is seeking a Head of Finance for its European operations. Based in Dublin 1, the role combines operational finance ownership with strategic influence across the business.

Key responsibilities

• Lead all financial planning and analysis (FP&A), including budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management and performance reporting for the European business.
• Oversee the financial control environment, ensuring robust policies, procedures and governance frameworks aligned with group standards.
• Prepare and deliver monthly, quarterly and annual financial reporting for internal leadership, group consolidation and external stakeholders.
• Manage regulatory financial reporting and submissions, ensuring full compliance with Central Bank of Ireland requirements and broader regulatory obligations.
• Support the investment strategy and financial risk management for customer assets in line with regulatory and group policy requirements.
• Partner with senior leadership to support strategic decision‑making, improve financial performance and contribute to transformation projects.

Required profile

• 5+ years post‑qualification experience (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) with strong expertise in financial control, taxation and investment accounting.
• Proven experience at Senior Finance Manager or Controller level within a complex, regulated or large‑scale organisation.
• Strong working knowledge of IFRS and UK/Irish GAAP, with experience in statutory reporting and audit processes.
• Experience in a regulated financial services environment, preferably with exposure to Central Bank of Ireland or equivalent frameworks.
• Demonstrated leadership capability, managing and developing high‑performing finance teams.
• Excellent stakeholder management, analytical and communication skills.
