About the role
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced finance professional to take ownership of a broad finance function within an established and growing organisation. Reporting into senior leadership, the role combines financial control, commercial analysis, strategic planning and operational finance, with significant scope to influence business performance and support future growth.
Key responsibilities
- Lead the monthly reporting cycle, delivering management information, performance analysis and meaningful financial insights to senior stakeholders.
- Manage the annual budgeting and forecasting process, incorporating sensitivity and scenario analysis.
- Provide financial input into major business agreements, negotiations, proposals and strategic decisions.
- Oversee cash management, banking relationships, liquidity and working capital.
- Maintain a strong financial control environment and oversee risk management, compliance and audit requirements.
- Ensure appropriate financial oversight of operational activity, including profitability analysis, revenue recognition, work‑in‑progress, cost management and cash conversion.
- Identify and implement improvements to finance systems, reporting and processes.
- Manage, motivate and develop the finance team to create a high‑performing function.
- Support senior leadership with business planning, investment analysis, financial modelling, business cases and growth initiatives.
Required profile
- Fully qualified ACA, ACCA or CIMA accountant.
- 8+ years post‑qualification experience within an industry environment.
- Proven experience partnering with senior leadership and influencing strategic decisions.
- Background across audit, taxation, financial controls and governance.
- Strong commercial focus and ability to translate financial data into clear recommendations.
Required skills
- Strong ERP experience, preferably Microsoft Business Central.
- Good knowledge of IFRS and/or FRS 102.
- Understanding of revenue recognition and operational accounting principles.
- Experience with work‑in‑progress, profitability analysis and financial modelling.
- Knowledge of cash flow, liquidity and working capital management.
