Head of Group Financial Planning & Analysis

About the role

We are looking for a senior finance leader to head Group Financial Planning & Analysis for a leading Irish group. Reporting to the Finance Director and working closely with the Executive Team, you will drive budgeting, forecasting and commercial insight across the organisation.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the annual Group budgeting process for P&L, cash‑flow and balance sheet at Group and divisional level.
• Own the quarterly and rolling forecasting cycle, ensuring consistency across business units.
• Develop and maintain dynamic financial models for scenario analysis and forward planning.
• Create the Group’s 5‑year plan and provide Board updates on progress.
• Support post‑acquisition reviews and own monthly Group MI packs for the Senior Leadership Team.
• Deliver variance analysis with commercial implications and develop KPIs linked to value creation, margin improvement and cash generation.
• Lead investment appraisals, business cases and ad‑hoc commercial analysis.
• Partner with operational leaders on capital allocation and trading decisions.
• Provide direction, oversight and quality control of the FP&A and commercial analysis function, setting objectives and building capability.
• Drive continuous improvement in FP&A processes, systems and reporting efficiency.

Required profile

• Fully qualified accountant (ACCA, ACA or CIMA).
• Senior finance professional with extensive FP&A, commercial analysis and Group reporting experience.
• Ability to operate both hands‑on and as a strategic advisor.
• Strong stakeholder management skills in a multi‑business environment.
• Proven experience coordinating and reviewing work delivered by others.
