HR Generalist

About the role

We are looking for an HR Generalist to provide comprehensive HR support at our Athy plant while covering a maternity leave period. You will be the first point of contact for site‑level HR queries and will work closely with managers and employees to ensure smooth HR operations.

Key responsibilities

• Implement and monitor HR procedures and corporate policies at plant level.
• Advise managers on routine HR matters, legal requirements and ethical obligations.
• Support disciplinary and grievance processes.
• Deliver end‑to‑end recruitment, from advertising to onboarding.
• Manage employee exits, including retirements, resignations and terminations.
• Coordinate site training to meet mandatory and business skill requirements.
• Maintain succession plans and talent mapping.
• Control HRIS data, ensure confidentiality and produce regular HR metrics reports.
• Oversee payroll data accuracy and salary change administration.
• Monitor absence data, support long‑term absence cases and return‑to‑work processes.
• Assist with performance and behavioural management initiatives.
• Maintain employee relations and drive engagement initiatives.

Required profile

• Proven experience in HR generalist functions, including recruitment, training coordination and employee relations.
• Strong knowledge of HR policies, employment legislation and confidentiality standards.
• Ability to work autonomously and act as the primary HR contact for a plant site.
• Excellent communication skills and a collaborative approach with managers and staff.
