Human Resources Director – Site Leadership (Portlaoise)

About the role

The Human Resources Director will lead the people agenda for a key Irish manufacturing site in Portlaoise. Reporting to the Site General Manager, this senior leader will act as a trusted partner to senior management, shaping culture, driving engagement and building leadership capability as the site expands.

Key responsibilities

• Partner with site leadership to foster a high‑performance culture.
• Design and execute culture and employee engagement strategies, including surveys and action plans.
• Deliver leadership development programmes and coach managers.
• Own employee relations, handling complex cases and ensuring consistent, fair practices.
• Support and embed change‑management initiatives aligned with global programmes.
• Serve as the strategic People & Culture lead on‑site, overseeing day‑to‑day HR operations with one direct report.

Required profile

• Proven experience in a strategic HR/P&C leadership role within a manufacturing or operational environment.
• Strong track record of culture transformation, employee engagement and leadership development.
• Confident in managing employee relations and influencing senior leaders.
• Ability to challenge and advise senior stakeholders with credibility.
• Experience delivering change‑management programmes in a global organisation.
• Highly independent with excellent communication and stakeholder‑management skills.
