Instructor/Supervisor – Day Service for Adults with Intellectual Disability

About the role

The successful candidates will help develop a new day‑service provision in Gort, County Galway, delivering educational, social, vocational and recreational programmes for adults with intellectual disabilities. They will also provide family support, coordinate social groups, organise evening activities and deliver one‑to‑one community support as needed.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement a comprehensive day‑service programme for adults with intellectual disability.
• Provide personal care support, including meals and hygiene, tailored to individual needs.
• Act as a key worker, building links with community groups and micro‑enterprises.
• Coordinate family support, social groups and evening activities.
• Deliver one‑to‑one community support and support individuals with autism and complex needs.

Required profile

• Level 7 qualification relevant to the health sector.
• Minimum 1 year experience working in intellectual disability services.
• Experience designing and delivering day‑service programmes is an advantage.
• Clean manual Irish driver’s licence.
• Fluency in spoken and written English.
