IT Specialist – Grade IV (Clerical)

About the role

The IT Specialist – Grade IV provides first‑line technical support for a large network of sites across Cork city and county. Based in Cork, the role involves day‑to‑day user assistance, policy maintenance and occasional travel to regional locations.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver first‑line support for desktops, laptops, mobile devices, printers and peripherals.
• Log, triage and resolve service‑desk tickets, escalating when necessary.
• Support Microsoft technologies including Windows 11 and Microsoft 365 suite (Outlook, Teams, OneDrive, SharePoint).
• Perform user account tasks such as password resets and access requests.
• Maintain and update IT policies, procedures and technical documentation.
• Assist with onboarding and off‑boarding of users.
• Provide basic network and connectivity troubleshooting.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of support processes.

Required profile

• Experience as a Clerical Officer within the HSE, TUSLA, or similar statutory health agencies, or equivalent public‑service background.
• Relevant third‑level qualification (minimum Level 6 NFQ) or equivalent education.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently in a busy support environment.

Required skills

• Windows 11 operating system.
• Microsoft 365 suite – Outlook, Teams, OneDrive, SharePoint.
• Desktop, laptop and mobile device support.
• Printer and peripheral troubleshooting.
• Basic network connectivity troubleshooting.
