IT Support Engineer – Level 2/3

About the role

Midland Steel is looking for an experienced IT Support Engineer (Level 2/3) to join its technical team. You will be responsible for maintaining and supporting customer IT environments, with a strong focus on Microsoft 365, Azure, SonicWall firewalls and Windows infrastructure. The role suits a proactive problem‑solver who enjoys automation and fast‑paced enterprise work.

Key responsibilities

• Provide Level 2 and Level 3 support for Microsoft‑based environments.
• Administer Microsoft 365 services such as Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, Teams, OneDrive and Entra ID.
• Manage Azure resources including VMs, networking, identity, storage and security.
• Configure, troubleshoot and maintain SonicWall firewalls, VPNs, NAT, routing and content filtering.
• Create PowerShell scripts for automation, reporting and onboarding/off‑boarding tasks.
• Support Windows Server (2016/2019/2022), Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP and Hyper‑V.
• Diagnose and resolve LAN, WAN, VPN and wireless networking issues.
• Perform system upgrades, patch management, monitoring and preventative maintenance.
• Work with backup and disaster‑recovery solutions to ensure business continuity.
• Document technical procedures and participate in migration and cloud‑transformation projects.

Required profile

• 3–7+ years of IT infrastructure or systems administration experience.
• Strong background in Microsoft 365 and Azure administration.
• Hands‑on experience with SonicWall firewalls.
• Advanced PowerShell scripting abilities.
• Solid understanding of Windows Server, Active Directory and networking fundamentals.
• Excellent customer‑service orientation and communication skills.
