Junior Security Analyst, Threat Detection Operations

About the role

Google is looking for a Junior Security Analyst to join its Threat Detection Operations team in Ireland. You will help build and maintain the signals, tools, and infrastructure that protect Google’s networks, cloud, and enterprise environments from emerging threats.

Key responsibilities

• Analyze, investigate, and respond to security alerts across Google’s infrastructure.
• Research and develop new risk‑hunting techniques to uncover hidden security risks.
• Automate repetitive workflows and create solutions that reduce operational toil.
• Ensure compliance with legal mandates and internal security and privacy policies.
• Manage response efforts for low‑severity incidents.
• Support the development of signals, tools, and infrastructure for threat detection.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
• At least 2 years of experience with security assessments, design reviews, or threat modeling.
• Experience with host, network, and cloud security principles and common attacker tactics, tools, and techniques (TTPs).
• Preferred: Security+ certification or similar cyber‑security credential.
• Strong problem‑solving, investigative, written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and multitask in a fast‑paced environment.
