Lead Software Engineer – Decision Data Caching

About the role

Join Mastercard's Decision Data Caching team within the Decision Management Platform. You will lead the development of a high‑performance backbone that ensures critical decision data is always available, consistent, and lightning‑fast for fraud detection and cardholder identity validation.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain Java‑based software solutions that process billions of transactions monthly.
• Collaborate with technical leads to define architecture and implementation strategies.
• Drive adoption of new technologies and best practices across the team.
• Provide production support as a subject‑matter expert, resolving incidents and problem tickets.
• Lead day‑to‑day development activities, ensuring SLA compliance and rapid time‑to‑market.
• Coordinate offshore development resources and manage daily tasks.
• Own the full software development lifecycle, including requirements, design, performance benchmarking, release rollout, and contingency planning.
• Participate in proofs of concept, evaluate vendor solutions, and conduct knowledge‑transfer sessions.
