Locum Consultant Physician – Geriatric Medicine (4‑week contract)

About the role

Beaumont Hospital, a leading academic teaching hospital in Dublin, is seeking a Consultant Physician to cover a four‑week locum position in Geriatric Medicine. The role runs from 3 August to 28 August 2026, providing comprehensive care to elderly patients within a multidisciplinary team.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver high‑quality inpatient and outpatient geriatric care, including assessment, diagnosis, and management of complex age‑related conditions.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including nursing, physiotherapy, and allied health professionals, to develop and implement patient‑centred care plans.
• Participate in on‑call duties and emergency assessments as required.
• Contribute to teaching and mentorship of junior medical staff and trainees.
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation and adhere to hospital governance and safety standards.

Required profile

• Registered in the Specialist Division of the Register of Medical Practitioners (Medical Council of Ireland) in Geriatric Medicine and General (Internal) Medicine.
• Current consultant‑level experience in geriatric or internal medicine.
• Eligibility to work in Ireland under the Public Only Consultants’ Contract 2023.
• Commitment to a 37‑hour work week for the four‑week period.
