Machine Operator – Cutting Hall (Steel Construction)

About the role

We are seeking a Machine Operator to join our Cutting Hall within the Steel Construction department. You will be responsible for programming and machining complex components, ranging from one‑off pieces to small batches, using a variety of material types.

Key responsibilities

• Operate and control the functions of CNC machines and workstations.
• Handle and move steel parts using cranes and other lifting equipment.
• Follow documentation, technical drawings, Q‑Gates and production control systems.
• Perform quality checks and record results to ensure parts meet customer specifications.
• Plan tools and tasks ahead to maintain a continuous workflow.
• Adapt to different machines and workstations as business needs change.
• Maintain a clean, tidy, and safe work environment, wearing appropriate PPE.
• Carry out any additional duties assigned by management.

Required profile

• Previous experience in a busy machine workshop.
• Strong attention to detail and a thorough approach to tasks.
• Good understanding of geometric tolerances and symbols.
• Proactive, flexible, and able to work shifts and rotate between machines.

Required skills

• Machine operation and control of CNC equipment.
• Use of cranes and lifting equipment.
• Interpretation of technical drawings and geometric tolerances.
