Maintenance Technician – Hotel (Westport)

About the role

The Grace Westport Estate is preparing to open a luxury hotel on Ireland's Wild Atlantic Way in Spring 2026. We are seeking a Maintenance Technician to ensure all guest and back‑of‑house areas are kept in pristine condition, combining general upkeep with specialised painting and finishing work.

Key responsibilities

• Perform routine and preventive maintenance in guest rooms, public spaces and service areas.
• Troubleshoot and repair minor plumbing, electrical, HVAC and carpentry issues.
• Respond promptly to maintenance requests to minimise guest disruption.
• Prepare surfaces, apply paints, stains, varnishes and conduct drywall repair, caulking and surface refinishing.
• Maintain colour consistency and high‑quality finishes in line with luxury standards.
• Follow hotel safety protocols, IOSH regulations and ensure proper use of PPE.
• Collaborate with all departments, communicate work order progress and support special projects or seasonal tasks.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years of general maintenance experience.
• At least 1 year of professional painting experience, preferably in a hotel or high‑end residential setting.
• Proficiency in basic plumbing, electrical, carpentry and HVAC troubleshooting.
• Strong attention to detail and aesthetic sense.
• Ability to read work orders, blueprints and technical manuals.
• IOSH certification or relevant trade licences (preferred).
• Willingness to work evenings, weekends, holidays or on‑call shifts.
• Eligibility to work in Ireland.
