Maintenance Technician

About the role

We are looking for a proactive Maintenance Technician to join our client’s production team in Mayo. The role ensures the reliability, efficiency and safety of plant equipment through preventive maintenance and rapid fault resolution.

Key responsibilities

• Perform planned preventative maintenance (PPM) on a wide range of machinery and equipment.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical faults, carrying out timely repairs to minimise downtime.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, work orders, inspections and repairs.
• Manage spare‑parts inventory to ensure critical components are available.
• Prioritise and respond to maintenance requests to support uninterrupted production.
• Apply hands‑on skills in basic machining, bearing and shaft assembly, and fault diagnosis.
• Collaborate with production and engineering teams to identify equipment upgrades and process improvements.
• Adhere to health, safety and environmental regulations and company policies.

Required profile

• Proven experience or strong aptitude in machine maintenance, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
• Excellent problem‑solving skills with attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Competence in reading and interpreting technical drawings, schematics and manuals.
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience in machine maintenance (preferred).
• Formal qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Maintenance or a related field.
• Experience with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).
• Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
