Maintenance Technician – Weekend Nights

About the role

Zimmer Biomet is seeking a Maintenance Technician to support its production facilities during weekend night shifts. The role involves maintaining, constructing, installing, moving, and repairing a wide range of production machinery and equipment to ensure uninterrupted operations.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and repair production machinery, lift trucks, storage racks, conveyors, lighting, plumbing, and other factory equipment.
• Provide front‑line support for all equipment, responding promptly to routine maintenance demands.
• Participate in preventive and predictive maintenance programs.
• Troubleshoot equipment stoppages using mechanical and electrical test equipment.
• Plan, document, and implement process‑improvement techniques.
• Maintain critical spare parts inventory.
• Coordinate projects with engineering and communicate solutions to supervisors.

Required profile

• Certificate in Manufacturing Technology, Mechanical/Automation Engineering, or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of hands‑on experience in an industrial setting.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Understanding of FDA‑regulated industry and equipment validation requirements.
• Ability to produce technical reports and update engineering drawings.

Required skills

• Light machining, welding, and fabrication.
• Repair of hand tools, machine tools, and CNC equipment (spindle bearings, ball screws, headstocks, axis feed systems).
• Electrical measuring instruments.
• Hydraulic and pneumatic system maintenance.
• Preventive maintenance and troubleshooting.
• Technical report writing and drawing updates.
