Manager, Computer Aided Engineering

About the role

The Engineering Manager, Computer Aided Engineering leads a global multidisciplinary team that supports the development of innovative medical devices through simulation, CAD design, and design enablement. Based in Cork, Ireland (or Portage, Michigan), the role focuses on delivering high‑quality engineering services throughout the product lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and develop CAE, eCAD, and mCAD teams, driving capability roadmaps and operational planning.
• Ensure consistent engineering processes, standards, tools, and best practices across simulation and design engineering.
• Partner with R&D, Mechanical, Electrical, Test, Quality, Regulatory, and Manufacturing functions to align engineering support with business priorities.
• Manage resource capacity, budgeting, and portfolio prioritization to meet high‑value work demands.

Required profile

• 8+ years of engineering experience in medical device development and 2+ years leading technical teams.
• Proven ability to build strong cross‑functional relationships and communicate technical outcomes to senior leaders.
• Experience working in regulated product development environments and managing competing priorities.
• Demonstrated coaching, mentoring, and people‑development skills.
