Manufacturing Process Engineer – Night Shift

About the role

We are looking for a Manufacturing Process Engineer to join our night‑shift team at Abbott’s diagnostic plant in Sligo. The role focuses on maintaining equipment uptime, ensuring safe operations and supporting continuous improvement within a regulated manufacturing environment.

Key responsibilities

• Perform preventative and reactive maintenance on equipment and utilities.
• Maintain engineering documentation and support equipment validation.
• Coordinate with internal teams and external contractors, including issuing permits.
• Support equipment and process improvement projects.
• Ensure compliance with building, facility, and equipment standards.
• Prepare departmental metrics and reports.
• Use systems such as CMSNext, POEE, DHM, BMS, and CTMS.
• Promote safe working practices and adhere to all EHS standards.
• Participate in incident investigations and drive safety improvements.
• Foster a strong safety culture across the plant.

Required profile

• Trade certification or relevant third‑level qualification.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in engineering or a related manufacturing environment.
• Ability to work night‑shift hours and follow pre‑employment medical requirements.
