Medical Director: Neurology, Immunology, Oncology

About the role

Lilly is seeking a Medical Director to lead scientific and medical activities across neurology, immunology and oncology within its IBU Alliance Markets. The role sits in Medical Affairs and acts as the therapeutically aligned scientist, shaping strategic and tactical medical plans for the portfolio.

Key responsibilities

• Understand and anticipate scientific information needs of local and regional customers (payers, patients, healthcare providers) and address questions through data analyses and health outcomes research.
• Contribute to medical strategies that support brand commercialization, collaborating with global Medical Affairs, brand teams, Real‑World Evidence and PRA functions.
• Provide clinical input to the PRA organization, help develop payer partnership programs and defend product value.
• Support business‑to‑business and business‑to‑government activities as a medical expert.
• Participate in strategic planning for currently marketed brands and review promotional materials.
• Deliver scientific content at conferences, advisory boards and educational programs, and oversee development of scientific materials.
• Train sales and medical representatives on product and disease state knowledge.

Required profile

• Medical degree (MD, DO or equivalent) with board certification or equivalent expertise in neurology, immunology or oncology.
• Demonstrated experience in clinical research, medical affairs or related scientific roles.
• Deep knowledge of disease states, available treatments and investigational compounds in the three therapeutic areas.
• Proven ability to engage with regulatory agencies, payer bodies and scientific communities.
