Network Engineer, Operations & Support

About the role

Meta's Edge & Network Service team is seeking a Network Engineer to join its global operations and support function. You will work on the production networks that power Meta’s services worldwide, handling incidents, automation, and continuous improvement across edge, backbone, optical, and CDN infrastructure.

Key responsibilities

• Investigate complex technical and process issues during major incidents across thousands of locations.
• Participate in Tier 3/4 on‑call rotation, routing issues and identifying process or tooling improvements.
• Collaborate with internal teams, service providers, and vendors to ensure reliability, security, privacy, and regulatory compliance.
• Maintain accurate operational documentation and data required for network support.
• Identify and develop automation opportunities to remediate faults via software.
• Drive quality into metrics, analyzing escalation trends, fault events, capacity, and vendor performance.
• Indirectly manage a contingent workforce delivering projects and recurring activities, enforcing standards and compliance.

Required profile

• Experience with incident response and escalation management on a global network scale.
• Ability to work cross‑functionally with engineering, security, and vendor teams.
• Strong analytical mindset for data assurance and risk management.
• Proven track record of driving automation and process improvements.
