NPD Technologist – Biscuits

About the role

The Bakehouse is seeking an enthusiastic NPD Technologist to drive new product development across its biscuit portfolio. You will work in a state‑of‑the‑art facility, turning concepts into market‑ready products for our own brand, private‑label partners, and contract manufacturers.

Key responsibilities

• Lead high‑profile NPD and innovation projects from idea generation through to commercial launch.
• Collaborate with retailer and brand partners across the UK, Ireland and Europe to respond to briefings and develop tailored solutions.
• Research market trends, emerging flavours and global opportunities to inform the innovation pipeline.
• Develop and test new recipes in the NPD kitchen, creating both brief‑driven and proactive prototypes.
• Prepare and issue recipes, nutritional information and production documentation required for product launch.
• Plan and conduct sensory evaluations, compile reports and provide actionable recommendations.

Required profile

• Passion for biscuits and a strong interest in food innovation.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines.
• Excellent communication skills for interfacing with internal teams and external partners.
• Detail‑oriented with a focus on delivering high‑quality, market‑ready products.

Required skills

• Experience in new product development within the food industry.
• Knowledge of recipe formulation, nutritional analysis and production documentation.
• Proficiency in sensory evaluation techniques.
