On-site Shipping Specialist (Leixlip)

About the role

This position is based at DHL Global Forwarding's Leixlip facility in Ireland, supporting the export shipping team for a major customer on‑site. The role operates on a 5‑over‑2 shift pattern, covering early start times when required, and focuses on delivering shipments in strict compliance with customer SLAs, safety standards and regulatory requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Read, understand and adhere to customer SLAs, SLG and SOPs.
• Process all customer and DHL Global Forwarding shipments exported from the site, ensuring full GTT and revenue compliance.
• Maintain required reports and documentation for the customer.
• Manage repair/return and pump collection processes, and oversee product flow from export to proof of delivery.
• Arrange trucking, X‑site collections and export SADS for contracted carriers.
• Support early‑start shifts (05:30) for high‑volume periods and assist with lean and cost‑saving initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with international trade legislation, data protection, and DHL policies (H&S, Quality, Environmental, HR).
• Participate in safety programs, Good Catch initiatives and GDP processes for life‑science shipments.

Required profile

• Strong PC literacy with the ability to work efficiently in a fast‑paced, security‑sensitive environment.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and the ability to build effective relationships with customers and internal teams.
• Ability to remain calm under pressure and handle difficult situations professionally.
• Flexibility to work rostered shifts, including early‑morning starts when required.
