Operational Excellence Lead

About the role

The Operational Excellence Lead reports to the Head of Industry Business Excellence and works with all teams and leaders to embed the Industry Business Excellence system. The role drives daily continuous improvement, superior 6‑D performance and a culture of operational excellence across the organisation.

Key responsibilities

• Embed and evolve the Industry Business Excellence system (OPEX principles, methodologies, tools, competencies) across all levels.
• Build OPEX competencies through structured programs and on‑the‑job learning.
• Coach and mentor teams in operational excellence methodologies and a performance‑based mindset.
• Identify and execute improvement projects that generate bottom‑line and top‑line impact.
• Lead cross‑functional teams, influencing without authority to develop optimal solutions.
• Stay informed of best practices and incorporate internal and external insights.
• Conduct OPEX/Performance 6‑D benchmarking, maturity assessments and process confirmations.
• Promote awareness of the Industry Business Excellence system and OPEX behaviours.
• Lead strategic OPEX programs and projects as required.

Required profile

• Proven record in continuous improvement, lean/Six Sigma management, methodologies and tools.
• Skilled coach and facilitator of cross‑functional teams.
• Experience in change management and influencing without direct authority.
• Strong business acumen and problem‑solving abilities.
• Project management experience with demonstrable competency in planning.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Required skills

• Lean Six Sigma (Master Black Belt or Black Belt certification).
• Continuous improvement methodologies and tools.
