Operations Accountant

About the role

AbbVie is seeking an Operations Accountant to manage the financial affairs of its manufacturing plant in Ballytivnan, Sligo. The role supports the plant’s finance function, ensuring accurate reporting, compliance and timely analysis to drive operational performance.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and review monthly accounts within the established schedule.
• Produce balance‑sheet reconciliations and ensure compliance with company policies and Sarbanes‑Oxley requirements.
• Develop and update plans, forecasts and LBE (Local Business Estimates) for review by the Plant Finance Manager and Site Director.
• Conduct variance analysis of monthly management accounts and recommend corrective actions.
• Collaborate with the manufacturing team, attend weekly meetings and support safety initiatives.
• Work with plant leadership to achieve financial targets and updates.

Required profile

• Qualified accountant (ACCA, ACA or ACMA) with a minimum of three years’ experience in finance or accounting.
• Strong understanding of financial reporting standards and internal controls.
• Ability to work independently and communicate effectively with cross‑functional teams.
