Paramedic – Remote Mining Site

About the role

Simberi Gold Company Limited is seeking a qualified Paramedic to join its permanent medical team at the Simberi Operation in Papua New Guinea. The role involves delivering emergency medical care, stabilising patients, and supporting medical evacuations on a remote mining site.

Key responsibilities

• Provide immediate emergency response and advanced life support to injured or ill personnel.
• Operate medical equipment such as bag‑valve‑mask resuscitators, external defibrillators and electrocardiograms.
• Administer drugs via injection, intravenous or oral routes under medical direction.
• Coordinate medical evacuations, including driving the mobile intensive‑care unit when required.
• Deliver training on first aid, Medivac procedures and medical treatments to field medics and staff.

Required profile

• Diploma or degree in an allied health field with paramedical training.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in a similar emergency medical role.
• Current PNG driver’s licence and ability to work independently in a remote environment.
• Strong clinical assessment, decision‑making and communication skills.

Required skills

• CPR certification.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications.
• Proficiency with emergency medical equipment (bag‑valve‑mask, defibrillator, ECG).
• Experience administering medications and performing intravenous procedures.
