People Operations & Engagement Lead

About the role

Research Ireland is looking for a People Operations & Engagement Lead to join its People and Culture team. The role provides broad exposure to HR functions, from recruitment and payroll to learning and development, and plays a key part in shaping an inclusive organisational culture.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate end‑to‑end recruitment, partner with hiring managers and manage job advertising platforms.
• Maintain the HR information system, ensuring accurate employee records and workforce data.
• Support payroll processing with external providers and assist with pension administration.
• Oversee onboarding and off‑boarding to deliver a positive employee experience.
• Act as a primary contact for employee and manager queries on policies and procedures.
• Assist with performance management, probation processes and employee‑relations matters.
• Prepare workforce data reports for internal and external stakeholders.
• Lead learning and development initiatives, including the Training Needs Analysis, annual training plan, and partnership with internal and external training providers.
• Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of learning programmes and drive continuous improvement.

Required profile

• Proactive HR professional with experience in recruitment, HR operations and employee engagement.
• Strong organisational skills and ability to own and improve HR processes.
• Excellent communication skills and a collaborative approach to working with managers and staff.
