Personal Lines Team Leader - Dublin

About the role

Howden Ireland, part of the global insurance group Howden, is hiring a Team Leader on a permanent basis for its Personal Lines book of business in Dublin. Reporting to the Head of Personal Lines, the role manages an administration and renewals team, covering post management, renewal processes and insurer/internal audits.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the administration and renewals team, including incoming and outgoing post, the centralised inbox and the distribution of renewal lists within regulatory timelines
• Manage Personal Lines cash books and oversee audits for the division
• Lead, manage and motivate direct reports through monthly 121 and annual PDR discussions, and carry out individual performance management
• Train new team members, develop procedures with HR and Compliance, and ensure annual CPD and CBI rule compliance
• Manage leave to keep staffing at optimum levels and liaise with HR on people-related issues
• Keep the team up to date with market practice and product availability, and give feedback on pricing, service levels and product development
• Oversee service delivery for the Premium Finance book and attend meetings when required

Required profile

• Minimum of 3 years' experience in an account handling role within insurance
• CIP qualified or MDI
• Proven ability to motivate and manage teams through effective leadership
• Excellent client relationship skills, able to deal with clients by phone and in person

Required skills

• Excellent technical product knowledge of the personal lines insurance market
• Proficiency in negotiating terms and conditions
