Production Manager – Medical Devices

About the role

The Production Manager will lead day‑to‑day manufacturing operations for medical devices in Galway, ensuring safe, compliant, and on‑time delivery. You will coordinate with planning, supply chain, quality, engineering and maintenance to meet output, quality and regulatory targets.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and manage production plans, schedules and resource allocation (people, equipment, materials).
• Monitor line performance, yields and OEE; implement corrective actions when targets are missed.
• Lead, coach and evaluate a team of shift leaders, supervisors and operators.
• Ensure compliance with ISO 13485, FDA QSR, EU MDR, GMP and internal SOPs.
• Partner with Quality to investigate non‑conformances, deviations and customer complaints; drive CAPA implementation.
• Support internal and external audits from a production perspective.
• Promote a safety culture, lead incident investigations and corrective actions.
• Identify and deliver productivity, yield and scrap‑reduction initiatives using Lean/6σ.
• Support new product introductions and process transfers, ensuring smooth ramp‑up.
• Provide regular production performance reports and KPI dashboards.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Science or related discipline (or equivalent experience).
• 5+ years of manufacturing experience, including 2‑3 years in a supervisory/managerial role.
• Experience in a regulated life‑science environment (medical devices, pharma).
• Demonstrated ability to manage high‑volume or high‑mix, quality‑critical production teams.
