Production Operator

About the role

Join Surmodics' production team in Ballinasloe, Co. Galway, and contribute to the manufacturing of innovative medical devices and diagnostic solutions. This full‑time position works a compressed four‑day week (Monday‑Thursday) and focuses on assembling finished products to meet strict quality and regulatory standards.

Key responsibilities

• Meet production output targets while maintaining required quality levels.
• Follow written work instructions and complete all required documentation in line with GMP and GDP standards.
• Rotate between multiple production steps, setting up and operating test equipment as directed.
• Inspect products at each workstation, identify and remove defective items.
• Contribute ideas for continuous improvement and participate in improvement activities.

Required profile

• Completed Leaving Certificate or equivalent secondary education qualification.
• Ability to accurately follow work instructions and procedures.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work effectively in a small team.
• Good interpersonal skills and a proactive, self‑starting attitude.

Required skills

• Equipment set‑up and operation on a production line.
• Understanding of GMP and GDP documentation requirements.
