Principal Global Sourcing Specialist – 12-Month Contract

About the role

We are seeking an experienced sourcing professional to lead the Metals category for a global regulated‑manufacturing leader. The role is based in Galway (hybrid) on a 12‑month fixed‑term contract and involves managing supplier escalations, negotiations and risk mitigation across a global supply base.

Key responsibilities

• Manage supplier escalations and drive timely resolution.
• Lead commercial and contract negotiations with strategic suppliers.
• Own supply continuity and risk mitigation activities for the Metals category.
• Drive cost‑reduction and value‑improvement initiatives.
• Support key projects and engage cross‑functional stakeholders.
• Maintain strategic supplier relationships and gather market intelligence.

Required profile

• 10+ years of experience in procurement, sourcing or supply chain, preferably in a regulated manufacturing environment.
• Strong background in strategic supplier management and commercial negotiations.
• Proven experience in supply continuity, risk management and cost‑reduction programmes.
• Experience managing strategic supplier spend of €50 million or more.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
