Professor and Deputy Principal, GDIC (UCD)

About the role

The University College Dublin (UCD) seeks a senior academic to join its School of Agriculture & Food Science or School of Biology & Environmental Science as Professor and Deputy Principal of the Guangzhou‑Dublin International College (GDIC). This permanent, full‑time position combines research, teaching and senior administrative responsibilities for the first five years.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver undergraduate and taught graduate modules at GDIC and/or in Dublin.
• Supervise undergraduate and graduate research projects.
• Provide academic oversight and leadership for GDIC programmes.
• Collaborate with the Head of School and Principal GDIC to balance teaching, research and administrative duties.
• Serve as Deputy Principal GDIC, reporting to the Principal GDIC.

Required profile

• Established research record with excellence at Professor level.
• Demonstrated high‑quality teaching experience.
• Willingness to spend significant time at GDIC in Guangzhou (one teaching semester plus 3‑6 weeks each semester).
• Ability to work across two UCD constituent schools.
