Project Engineer (Medical Device)

About the role

Atlantach Technical Services is seeking a Project Engineer to support its medical‑device client in Limerick. You will provide engineering expertise for equipment installations, upgrades and new projects while ensuring compliance with GMP and safety standards.

Key responsibilities

• Provide engineering support for equipment installation, upgrades and new builds.
• Define process equipment requirements and specifications based on safety, customer and process needs.
• Manage small‑to‑medium scale projects, including budgeting, technology evaluation and stakeholder communication.
• Develop and execute equipment and process validations in line with IML procedures.
• Negotiate with equipment suppliers and manage vendor relationships.
• Utilise project tools such as URS and Microsoft Project to track progress.
• Measure equipment efficiency, downtime and help define maintenance requirements.
• Lead improvement projects to boost compliance, yields and throughput.
• Investigate non‑conformances using NCMR and CAPA processes and implement root‑cause solutions.
• Ensure all work meets quality, safety and environmental standards.

Required profile

• Degree in production, manufacturing or mechanical engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum 4 years of relevant engineering experience.
• Previous experience in a GMP or medical‑device manufacturing environment.
• Experience with equipment and process validation activities.
• Background in process development.
• Familiarity with ISO safety and quality standards.
