Project Manager – Building Automation

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead the delivery of building automation projects for a leading provider based in Dublin. The role involves overseeing design reviews, planning, coordination, client interaction and health & safety compliance for HVAC systems.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain regular communication with stakeholders and the Contracts Manager, providing weekly status updates and escalating risks.
• Lead post‑handover design review and close‑out actions, ensuring design brief and acceptance criteria are met.
• Develop and maintain detailed project programmes covering design, procurement, installation and commissioning.
• Create and manage procurement schedules, monitor lead times and flag long‑lead or commercial risks.
• Produce and control comprehensive project documentation in line with company standards.
• Track project costs against budget, report variances and propose corrective actions.
• Plan and oversee commissioning activities and ensure smooth hand‑over to the client.
• Ensure compliance with internal SOPs, external regulations, quality and safety records.
• Coordinate issue resolution, vendor performance and technical queries.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related discipline.
• Strong problem‑solving abilities and excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Solid organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple stakeholders.

Required skills

• HVAC system design experience (AHUs, LPHWS, CWS, heat exchangers, FCUs, VAVs).
• Project planning and programme management.
• Design review and close‑out processes.
• Procurement scheduling and risk identification.
• Cost tracking, forecasting and budget control.
• Commissioning coordination and hand‑over documentation.
• Health & safety compliance within construction projects.
