Project Manager – Construction Projects

About the role

The Project Manager will lead the planning, coordination and delivery of construction projects from initiation through handover. You will act as the central point of contact for the project team, client and supply chain, ensuring safe, on‑time, on‑budget delivery with the required quality.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, organise and manage all project activities and resources against programme, cost and quality targets.
• Develop and maintain project programmes, identify critical paths and implement corrective actions.
• Manage project budgets, produce forecasts, monitor costs and approve expenditure.
• Coordinate procurement of labour, subcontractors and materials in line with contractual terms.
• Lead site‑based teams and subcontractors, set expectations and promote collaboration.
• Identify, record and manage project risks and issues, escalating when necessary.
• Prepare and issue project documentation such as meeting minutes, progress reports and handover dossiers.
• Ensure compliance with health & safety requirements and promote safe working practices.
• Liaise with clients, consultants and statutory bodies to resolve technical and commercial matters.
• Monitor quality control, conduct inspections and manage defect rectification.
• Support commercial activities by identifying variations and preparing supporting information.
• Coach and mentor junior staff, sharing best practice.

Required profile

• Proven experience delivering construction projects, preferably with a main contractor, developer or consultancy.
• Demonstrated ability to manage programmes, budgets and site teams.
• Good commercial awareness, including variation management and contract administration.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Organised, methodical and detail‑oriented, able to handle competing priorities under pressure.
