Public Affairs Internship

About the role

This 12‑month Public Affairs placement is based at Lilly’s Kinsale manufacturing site. You will support external communications, government affairs, and ESG initiatives while working closely with site leadership and corporate teams.

Key responsibilities

• Support the development and delivery of public affairs and external engagement activities at site and national level.
• Assist with stakeholder mapping and engagement, including community, public representatives, agencies, and industry bodies.
• Monitor and summarise policy, regulatory, and political developments relevant to life sciences and manufacturing.
• Contribute to briefing materials, presentations, and reports for local and corporate audiences.
• Support university outreach coordination and track the impact of engagement initiatives.
• Assist in creating and maintaining a database of external engagements with professional organisations and trade associations.
• Help develop and deliver Lilly’s All‑Ireland social impact programme and related communications.
• Maintain documentation audit trails for external engagement activities and contribute improvement ideas.

Required profile

• Recently completed or completing a graduate qualification in Public Affairs, Public Policy, Political Science, International Relations, or a related discipline.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to research, analyse, and summarise complex information.
• Excellent organisational and documentation skills with attention to detail.
• Proactive mindset, willingness to learn, and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
