Quality Assurance Engineer – Intermediate

About the role

Abbott is seeking an Intermediate Quality Assurance Engineer to provide process and quality engineering support to manufacturing, ensuring the delivery of the highest‑quality products to customers and supporting product development teams.

Key responsibilities

• Identify manufacturing process defects (scrap, non‑conforming material, complaints) and perform root‑cause analysis.
• Support development of product quality plans, specifications, risk analyses, and FMEA.
• Use process monitoring systems to pinpoint critical steps and reduce variation.
• Assist product and process improvement initiatives using quality metrics and analysis.
• Apply and develop quality tools and training materials.
• Participate in validation activities, including protocol and report writing and execution.
• Support corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) and field discrepancy investigations.

Required profile

• NFQ Level 7 qualification (or equivalent) with at least 2 years of relevant experience (Grade 14).
• Working knowledge of quality systems, processes, and regulated environments.
• Ability to solve moderate‑scope problems and apply judgment within defined procedures.
• Experience building internal and external networks, mentoring junior staff, and leading small project teams.
