Quality Supervisor

About the role
We are seeking an experienced Quality Supervisor to lead our QA/QC team within a fast‑paced food manufacturing environment. You will ensure that quality systems are applied consistently across production, support daily operations, and drive continuous improvement.
Key responsibilities
- Lead, coach and develop the QA/QC technicians, ensuring effective performance and training.
- Plan daily quality activities and allocate resources across production areas.
- Conduct and review GMP audits, ensuring corrective actions are completed.
- Provide quality expertise in daily production meetings.
- Verify product quality through line inspections, product reviews and sensory assessments.
- Oversee compliance with product specifications, labeling and food safety standards.
- Maintain quality documentation, verification records and site compliance systems.
- Support external and internal audits, including BRCGS, customer and regulatory inspections.
- Manage internal non‑conformance investigations and drive CAPA implementation.
- Lead root‑cause investigations using techniques such as 5 Whys and Fishbone analysis.
- Monitor quality trends and communicate findings to operational teams.
- Coordinate calibration activities and support validation programmes.
- Deliver quality‑related training across production teams.
- Promote best practice in GMP, hygiene, traceability and food‑safety culture.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to resolve quality issues and improve site performance.
- Contribute to continuous‑improvement initiatives, KPI delivery and right‑first‑time performance.
Required profile
- A degree or diploma in Food Science or a related discipline.
- Experience in a food‑manufacturing quality environment.
- Previous supervisory or team‑leadership experience.
- Strong knowledge of GMP, HACCP and food‑safety management systems.
- Experience supporting BRCGS, retailer or third‑party audits.
- Excellent investigation and root‑cause analysis skills.
- Proven ability to manage CAPA and quality‑improvement initiatives.
- Strong communication and stakeholder‑management abilities.
- Ability to prioritise multiple activities in a fast‑paced manufacturing setting.
- Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office and ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle or Microsoft Dynamics.
