Quality Technologist – Food Safety & QA

About the role

The Quality Technologist will join The Culinary Food Group in Naas, supporting the development and maintenance of quality and food‑safety systems that meet customer, third‑party and legislative requirements. This full‑time, on‑site position works closely with production, R&D and quality teams to ensure product safety and compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Implement and maintain detailed product specifications and quality standards, using customer software such as Micros, Hamilton Grant and FIND.
• Develop and sustain internal specifications for the factory QMS and HACCP systems.
• Control documentation and keep the quality management system up to date.
• Update process check‑sheets and procedures driven by improvements, audits or customer needs.
• Assist the Quality Manager with the internal audit programme and participate fully in external food‑safety audits (BRC, Department of Agriculture, etc.).
• Maintain traceability throughout production and conduct traceability exercises on request.
• Plan and execute microbiological, chemical and physical testing programmes for raw materials, processes and finished goods.
• Report non‑conformances, lead root‑cause analysis and drive corrective actions.
• Investigate customer complaints, coordinate with production and maintenance, and implement preventive measures.
• Manage quarantined product, ensuring traceability, safety and appropriate disposition.
• Oversee shelf‑life analysis for chilled and frozen products and support new product development as needed.

Required profile

• Experience working with customer specifications and related software tools.
• Familiarity with QMS, HACCP and food‑safety audit processes.
• Ability to manage documentation, traceability and product testing programmes.
• Strong analytical mindset for root‑cause investigations and corrective actions.
