RD&I Project Engineer

About the role

We are looking for an RD&I Project Engineer to join our dynamic engineering team in Kingscourt. The role focuses on driving new product development and continuous improvement across the organisation, combining hands‑on testing, design, and cross‑functional collaboration.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and manage new product development and improvement projects from concept to launch.
• Collaborate with manufacturing, quality, and operations teams to ensure seamless integration.
• Design, prototype, and test mechanical products, maintaining accurate documentation.
• Analyse test data to optimise performance and inform design decisions.
• Prepare detailed technical reports and maintain development records.
• Research industry trends and emerging technologies.
• Provide technical support to other departments as required.
• Present project updates, timelines, and progress reports.
• Ensure compliance with ISO standards, EN regulations, and company policies.

Required profile

• Level 8 degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
• Minimum 2 years’ experience in R&D or a similar engineering environment.
• Full clean driving licence (IRL/UK/EU) and willingness to travel as needed.

Required skills

• Proficiency in SolidWorks and AutoCAD.
• Knowledge of FEA tools, preferably ANSYS.
• Hands‑on experience with mechanical testing and building test rigs.
