Registered Nurse – Salthill, Galway

About the role

Ability West is seeking a qualified registered nurse to join its team in Salthill, Galway. The role involves providing safe, person‑centred care to individuals with intellectual disabilities and autism, supporting them to engage in community and leisure activities.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver nursing care in line with person‑centred planning and individual reviews.
• Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings, training courses and performance management.
• Ensure a safe and secure environment that promotes autonomy, health and wellbeing.
• Support individuals to make choices, participate in community activities and enjoy a fulfilling lifestyle.

Required profile

• Recognised nursing qualification (RNID, RGN, SRN, RPN) with current registration with An Bord Altranais agus Cnaimhseachais na hEireann.
• Experience working with people with intellectual disabilities.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work within a multidisciplinary team.
• Flexibility and willingness to adapt to changing needs of service users.
• Full driving licence and own vehicle (desirable).
