Registered Respiratory Therapist – NICU Nights

About the role

The Baptist Health system is seeking a Certified Respiratory Therapist to join the NICU team at Wolfson Children’s Hospital in Jacksonville, FL. This is a full‑time night‑shift position focused on delivering high‑quality respiratory care to critically ill neonates and infants.

Key responsibilities

• Evaluate, diagnose and treat patients with respiratory disorders.
• Administer respiratory therapies and conduct pulmonary function tests.
• Monitor and manage mechanical ventilators for patients requiring respiratory support.
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses and other healthcare professionals to develop individualized care plans.
• Provide patient and family education on breathing techniques, medication use and lifestyle adjustments.
• Maintain accurate and complete documentation of assessments, treatments and patient progress.

Required profile

• Certified Respiratory Therapist (RRT) required; Florida licensure preferred.
• Associate degree in respiratory therapy or related science preferred.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) and Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to work night shifts in a high‑acuity NICU environment.
