Registrar Level Psychiatrist – Fixed‑Term (July‑2026 to Jan‑2027)

About the role

This fixed‑term position (July 2026 – January 2027) is for a Registrar‑level psychiatrist working in adult inpatient and community psychiatry, including the Adult ADHD Service at Cluain Mhuire Adult Mental Health Services. The role offers exposure to a top‑class clinical and academic environment with strong multidisciplinary support.

Key responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive psychiatric assessment, diagnosis and treatment for adult in‑patients and community patients.
• Participate actively in the Adult ADHD Service and multidisciplinary team meetings.
• Contribute to the teaching programme for RCSI students and NCHDs.
• Engage in clinical audit and quality‑improvement projects.
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation and adhere to hospital policies.

Required profile

• Medical degree and current registration with the Irish Medical Council.
• Eligibility to work in Ireland, meeting immigration and English‑language criteria.
• Previous experience in psychiatry is preferred; experience in the Irish health system is desirable.

• Clinical psychiatric assessment and management.
• Prescribing and monitoring psychotropic medication.
