School Age Childcare Educator – Full/Part Time

About the role

The Purple Bell is seeking enthusiastic and energetic individuals to join our School Age Childcare Service. In this role you will create a safe, fun and nurturing environment for children of school‑age, supporting their social and emotional development while they are under our care.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise and engage children during drop‑in, before‑school and after‑school sessions.
• Plan and deliver age‑appropriate activities that promote learning, creativity and physical wellbeing.
• Maintain a clean, safe and welcoming environment in line with health and safety standards.
• Communicate regularly with parents and guardians about children’s progress and any concerns.
• Collaborate with the wider team to ensure consistent, high‑quality care.

Required profile

• Qualified with a minimum Level 5 childcare qualification or actively working towards a recognised equivalent.
• Passionate about working with children and able to demonstrate a caring, positive attitude.
• Team‑player who can contribute to a supportive and collaborative workplace.
• Flexible to work full‑time or part‑time shifts as required.

Required skills

• Understanding of child development principles for school‑age children.
• Ability to plan and facilitate engaging activities.
• Strong communication skills with children, parents and colleagues.
