Senior Community Facilitator (Part‑time)

About the role

This permanent part‑time position provides direct, front‑line support to adults with intellectual disability, autism and complex behaviours in the Strokestown/Tulsk area. You will act as a key worker, championing the individual's rights, promoting independence and facilitating community inclusion.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the implementation of the Behaviour Support Plan and support the individual during episodes of distress.
• Coordinate and guide a multidisciplinary team to deliver high‑quality, person‑centred services.
• Develop and monitor the individual's person‑centred plan, ensuring achievement of agreed outcomes.
• Advocate for the individual, encouraging participation in community activities and positive risk‑taking.
• Maintain accurate records using online and assistive‑technology systems.

Required profile

• QQI Level 7 qualification in Social Care, Therapy Assistance, Community Development, Creative Arts or related fields.
• 2–3 years experience designing and delivering programmes for people with intellectual disability or autism (desirable).
• Full clean manual driving licence and access to a car; willingness to obtain a Class D1 licence if required.
• Fluent written and spoken English.
• Strong teamwork, creativity, positivity and enthusiasm.

Required skills

• Proficiency with computers, modern technology, online systems and assistive technology.
• Manual driving licence (ability to drive manual‑transmission vehicles).
