Senior Cost Manager (Quantity Surveyor) – Cork

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Cost Manager (Quantity Surveyor) to join our award‑winning construction consultancy in Cork. The role will involve providing strategic cost advice from feasibility through to project completion and leading a growing cost‑management team.

Key responsibilities

• Develop detailed cost plans, budgets and feasibility studies and advise on commercial implications during design.
• Lead procurement strategies, prepare Bills of Quantities, manage tender processes and recommend contract routes.
• Monitor project costs during construction, produce monthly cost reports, assess variations and negotiate final accounts.
• Act as the primary commercial contact for clients, attend design and project meetings and cultivate long‑term relationships.
• Mentor intermediate and junior cost managers, review technical outputs and support recruitment.
• Support directors with commercial reviews, contribute to business development and promote best‑practice cost‑management procedures.

Required profile

• 8–15+ years of experience in cost management, quantity surveying or a construction consultancy.
• Degree qualified in a relevant discipline (e.g., Quantity Surveying, Construction Management).
• Proven ability to manage large, multi‑sector projects and to lead client‑facing commercial activities.
