Senior DevOps Engineer - Cloud Infrastructure

About the role

Our client is seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer to lead the development of their platform engineering function. This hands‑on leadership role combines technical contribution, architecture design, and people management, working closely with engineering leaders and cross‑functional teams.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build and maintain core platform capabilities such as infrastructure provisioning, CI/CD pipelines, observability tooling, secrets management and developer productivity services.
• Promote reuse of shared components and internal libraries (e.g..NET Core, Angular) to reduce duplication across engineering teams.
• Own AWS cloud architecture and operations, including networking, IAM, cost optimisation and high‑availability design.
• Support and troubleshoot large‑scale distributed systems, lead incident response and drive post‑incident reliability improvements.
• Define and enforce engineering standards for branching, deployment, containerisation and environment consistency.
• Embed security and privacy principles into platform design, including threat modelling, SAST/DAST, dependency scanning and least‑privilege IAM.

Required profile

• 6+ years of software engineering experience with substantial exposure to platform engineering, infrastructure or DevOps environments.
• Proven ability to lead engineering teams, including hiring, coaching and performance management.
• Strong understanding of security principles and experience embedding security into development and operational processes.
• Demonstrated success improving reliability, scalability, performance or operational excellence.
• Comfortable working in fast‑paced environments with evolving priorities and ambiguity.
