Senior Financial Controller

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Financial Controller to lead the financial operations of multiple European entities for a leading multinational engineering organisation. Reporting directly to the CFO, you will have high visibility and the opportunity to influence strategic decisions across a dynamic, international environment.

Key responsibilities

• Lead month‑end close, financial reporting and cash‑flow management for several European entities.
• Ensure compliance with local GAAP, oversee statutory accounts and tax filings across jurisdictions.
• Oversee core finance functions including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll and general accounting.
• Maintain a robust internal‑controls framework, ensuring risk management and audit readiness.
• Ensure supply‑chain compliance across all operating regions.
• Manage transfer‑pricing requirements in line with group and regulatory standards.
• Support the setup of new legal entities across Europe as needed.
• Identify and drive continuous process improvements within the finance function.
• Build strong relationships with operational, project and senior leadership teams.
• Manage outsourced service providers and ensure service‑delivery excellence.
• Lead, coach and develop a high‑performing finance team.
• Support strategic initiatives and key finance projects.

Required profile

• ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified with 10+ years post‑qualified experience.
• Proven experience managing multi‑entity, international reporting structures.
• Strong leadership capability with a track record of mentoring and developing teams.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with high attention to detail.
• Ability to operate effectively in a fast‑paced, evolving environment.
• Strong analytical mindset and problem‑solving skills.
• Collaborative approach with the ability to build relationships across the business.
