Senior FinCrime Operations Manager

About the role

Monzo is looking for a Senior FinCrime Operations Manager to lead its outsourced FinCrime partners and drive data‑driven decision making across its EU operations. Reporting to the EU Director of FinCrime, Fraud and Dispute Operations, you will work closely with product, data science, engineering and compliance teams to protect customers and support Monzo’s expansion.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee outsourced FinCrime partners, ensuring SLA compliance and performance.
• Monitor FinCrime metrics, trigger actions with product teams, and drive mitigation strategies.
• Design and implement technology‑focused screening, onboarding and transaction‑monitoring solutions.
• Produce committee packs for the Director of FinCrime, Fraud and Disputes.
• Coordinate change implementation, prioritising initiatives and supporting assurance activities with the MLRO and second line of defence.
• Collaborate with third‑party vendors, data scientists and the 3rd line of defence to audit and resolve fraud trends.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading FinCrime operations in payments or banking.
• Strong track record managing third‑party/outsourcing relationships.
• Ability to translate robust data insights into strategic decisions.
• Excellent stakeholder management across cross‑functional teams.
• Understanding of AML/CTF, transaction monitoring, screening and onboarding rules.

• Salary €76,500 – €95,500 plus performance‑based incentive awards.
