Senior Lead Project Engineer – Power Infrastructure

About the role

We are looking for a Senior Lead Project Engineer to join the Infrastructure Delivery team of Ireland’s electricity grid operator. The role will oversee the full life‑cycle of medium to large scale transmission and sub‑station projects, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget and to the required quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the end‑to‑end delivery of 400 kV, 220 kV and 110 kV station and circuit projects, from concept through feasibility, statutory planning, design, construction, commissioning and hand‑over.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary teams, contractors and stakeholders to meet schedule, budget and quality targets.
• Ensure compliance with governance, health‑safety and regulatory requirements throughout the project lifecycle.
• Monitor project performance, report progress and mitigate risks.
• Support the Chief Infrastructure Office in strategic planning and portfolio management.

Required profile

• Engineering degree (civil, electrical or related) with at least 6 years of experience in the power industry.
• Proven track record of managing large‑scale infrastructure projects.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder‑engagement skills.
• Resilient, motivated and able to work both on‑site and in an office environment.
