Senior Low Latency C++ Engineer

About the role

A leading quantitative trading and technology firm is seeking a Senior Low Latency C++ Software Engineer to join a highly collaborative engineering team focused on building next‑generation electronic trading systems. This role works on business‑critical technology where performance, reliability and scalability are fundamental, and the work has direct impact on trading operations.

Key responsibilities

• Designing and developing ultra‑low latency C++ applications
• Building and enhancing automated trading and market data systems
• Optimising system performance across the software stack
• Developing scalable, fault‑tolerant infrastructure and services
• Working closely with researchers and other engineers to deliver new functionality
• Improving tooling, monitoring, testing, and operational reliability
• Contributing to the architecture of distributed systems handling large volumes of real‑time data
• Participating in code reviews and helping maintain high engineering standards

Required profile

• Strong commercial experience developing software in modern C++
• Excellent understanding of data structures, algorithms, concurrency and systems programming
• Experience building high‑performance, low‑latency or distributed systems
• Strong Linux knowledge and familiarity with networking concepts
• Passion for solving difficult technical problems
• Excellent software engineering fundamentals and clean coding practices
• Experience with multithreading, performance profiling and optimisation
• Bachelor's, Master's or PhD in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Physics or a related technical discipline
